In order to increase biodiversity and create synergy, we plant companion crops alongside our high-CBD hemp plants. You can see design elements of the companion crops we use in our logo.
We never use pesticides. Instead, we utilize beneficial insects, such as lady bugs, that eat detrimental insects.
ORGANIC COMPOST TEA
Our philosophy is to build the soil, not to just feed the plants. We don't use any chemical or bottled nutrients, even if they are organic. Instead, we brew our own actively-aerated compost tea that contains both microbial and fungal life. By aerating it and providing sugar for life to feed on, we are able to dramatically increase the population of beneficial microbes in the tea before applying it.
MYCORRHIZAL FUNGAL WEB
All of these responsible cultivation practices help stimulate a mycorrhizal fungal web that lives underneath the ground. This network of fungi existing between plant roots allows them to transfer nutrients to each other and communicate about potential threats. (1, 2)
Part of how we grow, as farmers and a company, is by having a strong commitment to corporate social responsibility. As a small, local company, we understand how important it is to support your neighbors. Below is a list of local businesses we support and what we source from them.
